New  Ontario Science Centre The architectural firms  Hariri Pontarini Architects (HPA)  and  Snøhetta  have been selected by the Ontario provincial government to design the new Ontario Science Centre (OSC). The new building, created by  HPA  and  Snøhetta , will replace the current Ontario Science Centre complex, originally designed by Canadian modernist architect Raymond Moriyama. The building itself is a standout: built on a strong prefabricated metal frame with a lightweight, a...

When a customer first comes to an architectural firm with the idea of a new shopping mall , office complex , or multifunctional building , they rarely realize how many hidden risks this process entails . One incorrectly formulated task , a missed analysis of urban planning restrictions , or weak control at a construction site — and now the budget has been exceeded by 30-40 % , deadlines have been disrupted , and the facility has to be redone . That is why professional architects insist that only strict design stages turn a risky venture into a predictable and profitable enterprise . Moreover , a well - designed sequence of stages allows you to identify potential conflicts between the customer 's wishes and the actual capabilities of the site in advance , which significantly reduces the likelihood of costly changes at...
